UBI trial completed for the first 6 Bootstrappers!
From Conrad Shaw of the Bootstraps Basic Income Project
THE FIRST BOOTSTRAPPERS GRADUATE!
Holy cow. This is a long time coming.
In the last couple months, the two-year basic income pilot program has officially come to an end for three of our eleven participating households, including:
a young couple with a special-needs child in Montana,
a man in New York City experiencing homelessness,
and an indigenous woman and her adopted nephew in South Dakota.
We’ve been racing around the country filming final updates and interviews, and these stories are officially wrapped! To say that a lot has happened in their lives would be a serious understatement.
We can’t wait to share their stories with you!
Hopefully they will be able to help inspire America to have a serious conversation about whether we should all be getting a basic income.
That’s it for this update!
And to every one of you: stay strong, stay alert, stay kind, stay interested and vocal about UBI and other human rights movements, and stay tuned!
In love and solidarity,
Conrad Shaw
